How do I word a wedding invitation card with lodging info and registry info?

I want to include a card in my wedding invitation to have the necessary accomodations information, and also mention where we are registered.

An formal invitation should convey only limited information: what, why, who, when, and where. There is no “correct” way to cram all that additional information into a formal invitation. (Your options are either formal invitation or inviting people by sending them a friendly letter. There is no “informal invitation” option.) If you want to include information about lodging, then invite people with a friendly letter instead of with an invitation. Do NOT mention gifts of registries in this letter. The only time it is NOT rude to give this sort of information is when the information is REQUESTED.

Back in the ancient days (1900s) before The Wedding Industry came up with those “helpful” response cards, the norm was to RSVP by phone. The resulting phone call was when we talked about driving directions, appropriate dress, food options, lodging, etc, AND when guests asked “What sort of gift would the couple like?” Usually it was bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family members taking and making these calls, not the bride.

I suggest that you save yourselves a tidy sum by skipping the RSVP cards and do this by phone. A single good one-on-one phone conversation is worth a thousand lousy printed inserts in your invitations. When all those little printed lists come tumbling out, an invitation starts to look like junk mail instead of like an elegant request to attend an important event.
