I don’t think you are obligated if it makes you feel uncomfortable. In most cases, I would say you have to do what she says, but since this isn’t a traditional wedding i don’t think the same rules apply. If you still want to be in the wedding, I would ask if you could wear the dress for the ceremony and change into something else for the reception.
