How many of you are walking down the aisle to the wedding march?

If not why and what song are you walking down the aisle to? I’m not very traditional but I’m not sure what to do about this one. Just want to hear your opinions.

Hi, I didn’t much like the wedding march as I’m not a great fan of Wagner, but due to choice of my husband’s family, got married in very traditional style etc, so no modern music allowed.

I asked our organist for advice and he was so, so helpful and played loads of different stuff for us. In the end we chose to walk into church to Handel’s March of the queen of sheba (which is very well known and joyful), and walked out to the Hallelujah chorus, from Handel’s Messiah, which is one of my favorite pieces of music. The church choir joined in and it was amazing. Some people thought it was funny! Most thought it was great! I thoroughly recommend Handel anyway!

Lots of good luck to you. I gather that Bach’s Brandenburg concerto and Pachelbel’s Canon are very popular and lovely, for walking in to. I think something upbeat is nice for leaving the church. The link attached is fun.
