Should I be angry about not receiving wedding gifts from my friends? Is there any way to kindy bring it up?

We had a destination wedding, many of our friends who attended didn’t even give us a card. Our friends who didn’t attend were not much better. Overall we are really disappointed with them. I know this may sound selfish, but we expected gifts. We travel for all weddings and still bring gifts, so I don’t understand the thought process here. Does this mean if you travel to a wedding, which most of us do, that we aren’t expected to bring gifts? What is the etiquette? Even if I am in a wedding and fly to the destination and pay for a few nights in a hotel, I still bring a gift. I don’t understand. Does someone know the etiquette behind this?

Tradition holds that people have one year to give a gift. Were you registered somewhere? Perhaps they may have been waiting to see what you received, so as not to duplicate. There are many reasons that I can think of. I can think of no appropriate way to ask someone why they did not give a gift.
